Drink And Play

The people who own Snakes and Lattes Cafe on Bloor St have opened a bar on College St and have appropriately named it Snakes and Lagers Board Game Bar. I took this pic early on a Sunday morning so the drapes were pulled but when I looked on-line it seems to be quite nice inside. Love that name!

That is a great name, but if I start seeing snakes I'm going to stop drinking. Great find.

There are a couple of these board game cafes I can think of here. One incorporates Monopoly into its name.

Snakes and Lattes and Snakes and Lagers are both great - and you would immediately see a connection!

Fun sign and great name :)

I'm not familiar with a game that has 'snakes' in its name- or is this a play of words that I don't understand?
I am pleasantly surprised to see that a board game is popular enough to be in a bar.

Don't know much about lager, but I do know a thing or two about snakes . . . of, er, the reptile variety.

I'll drink to that.

I never played the game "Snakes and Ladders" when I was a kid, but I do know about it. This has to be the source of the play on words.

I didn't grow up with board games, though snakes and ladders was one that we did have (which may explain why I always think of it as my favourite)

I'm not familiar with the board game, but the name is pretty catchy.

The only game I'm familiar with this kind of name is Hooks and Ladders?

Intriguing pun on an old board game name. I just wonder what the snakes is all about. Spaghetti bolognaise?

I really like that name too, and it reminds of the Snakes and Ladders game!

You are going to have to go back and report on it for your public!

Yes, it was impressive that Canada beat the favored USA women's basketball team. Kia Nurse had a breakout game. She was solid last year as a freshman starter for UConn, but there were so many offensive weapons on the team that she was rarely called upon to be a big scorer. I think Connecticut fans will look differently at her this year.
