Flying Turtle

My last post from this year's Santa Claus Parade shows a float sponsored by a travel company and showing us a nice warm scene. It was the turtle that I really liked in this one - he looks so joyful flying above the waves!

That's one fine-looking turtle. I've never seen one fly before, though.

Our condo in Ft. Lauderdale had a canal in back of it and the canal was filled with turtles. But people came from all over the area to catch the turtles because they made turtle soup.

Finally, the homeowners association posted "No Fishing" and "No Trespassing" signs which worked but weren't 100% effective.

Looks like this turtle or tortoise will certainly win ANY race.

He does look happy to be soaring above the water and that guy in the back is missing the whole thing.

Oh, shoot! For a moment there I thought that was the University of Maryland's terrapin. Guess not. :-)

Not sure I have ever heard of a flying turtle but I have to admit I really like this float. :)
